About Urjo
URJO was established In 2007 with the goal to reassure and restore self confidence in women
going through midlife crises, primarily due to menopause and empty nest syndrome. URJO is a
voluntary organization and the word literally means “Power”. We emphasize the power within
women and encourage them to find ways and means to empower themselves and stay happy.

The Cataract Surgery Project
The cataract surgery for Apanghar Mashimas started in the last week of June when four Mashimas were taken to the Calcutta Lions Bimal Poddar Eye Hospital for eye check up. Two of them didn’t require cataract surgery and were treated with eye drops.

Rakhi Celebration with Brahmakumaris
Urjo started its festive celebration on Tuesday, 25th August,2026 with Rakhi Celebration with Brahma Kumaris. This was in sync with Urjo’s motto of Bhalo Theko.
